1 review for Satin 21 Inch Soprano Pineapple Ukulele

  1. Chris Russell (

This is a lovely little instrument. It is very plain, but attractive with its pineapple shape, as well as front and side position markers. The laminate of the ukulele is nice and thin, resulting in a loud and punchy tone, which is the goal of a soprano ukulele. It came set up pretty well, with action at 0.5mm at the 1st fret and 2.75mm at the 12th fret.

My complaints: the bridge (on mine) isn’t richlite, so it doesn’t match the fretboard, there was an odd “striping” pattern on the neck of my ukulele, and I’m not a fan of the strings (I like fluorocarbon) and the ends were tied the wrong direction for me as a right-handed player. Please note: none of these really have any impact on the ukulele whatsoever. You might also want to invest in a thicker bag if you plan to travel with your ukulele. Here in the USA it’s taking at least a month to receive this ukulele, so plan ahead.

While I’m not going to say that this is a “K” brand ukulele, I think it is easily the best laminate soprano ukulele that I have seen under $100. I have suggested this instrument already to a number of other buyers, and will continue to recommend this one as a starter ukulele. Looking for a gift for a new player? Looking for another ukulele? Want a soprano? Want a pineapple? Here’s one at an unbelievable price.

My son (age 8) claimed this one as his own as soon as he saw it.

You can see my full review of this ukulele at I have since added strap buttons and changed the strings to Martin M600 fluorocarbon strings. Disclaimer: I bought this instrument myself, and I was not paid to create a review of this instrument.
