The Aiersi concert zebrawood ukulele I have is a laminate uke with top, back, sides zebrawood. It’s built perfectly and is a beauty. Looks great, plays great, sounds great, what more can you ask for? Super ukulele!
The Aiersi SU0044-TA is a wonderful ukulele with a solid spruce top and laminate zebrawood back and sides. With the ratings, I find that I cannot give it a perfect score, but I thought I would break things down so customers can have a good idea of what to expect. Is it recommended? Absolutely.
Cost – 5/5 This is a good value for a solid top ukulele.
Build Quality – 5/5 Very nicely made, inside and out. Pretty clean on the inside!
Sound – 4/5 The sound is very good, but it is partially a laminate and I think it would respond better to other strings…try Worth Browns
Appearance – 4/5 I’m not a fan of zebrawood. I’d love to see this model with a different choice of laminate. I realize this is personal, so if you like zebrawood (or aren’t bothered by it), go for it. I’d also like to see this model available as a gloss ukulele.
Playability – 5/5 Very standard 35mm nut and spacing, but nice, low action.
Accessories – 1/5 At this price, it doesn’t need nice accessories, but as a solid top instrument, you’ll want a better bag for it. I wish Aiersi included a much better bag with all of their ukuleles, even if they had to raise the prices.
I know Aiersi would like the top rating to be 5/5, but that wouldn’t be honest of me to do. What I can tell you is that this is a very nice, affordable, good playing ukulele. You can buy it with confidence for a beginner, or as another ukulele in your collection. It is another example of a ukulele from Aiersi providing excellent value for a very nice ukulele.
